Last fall, millions of Californians voted in support of a $10 billion environmental bond measure. Officially titled the Parks, Environment, Energy, and Water bond measure, its broad popular support was a signal to our state leaders that Californians care about climate action. Here in Humboldt, 63% of voters supported the bill.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert “man who walks in the woods” —or often simply “woods”— Sutherland. 

Today, the Forest Service has taken the next step in rescinding the Roadless Rule, potentially making 4.4 million acres of old growth forests, rivers, and wildlife in California vulnerable to industrial logging and road development.
