The Board of Forestry is pushing forward a controversial proposed rule-making under the guise of wildfire risk reduction, which would allow logging and use of heavy equipment—including tractors and dozers—in Watercourse and Lake Protection Zones (WLPZ). Officially titled the Parks, Environment, Energy, and Water bond measure, its broad popular support was a signal to our state leaders that Californians care about climate action.
