3rd 30x30 Progress Report Released
The California Natural Resources Agency, the state agency tasked with carrying out our state goal of protecting 30% of land and coastal waters by 2030 released their annual progress report on July 7th.
In it, they reported that we have safeguarded 26.1% of lands and 21.9% of coastal waters thus far.

New NEPA Regulations Released by Interior Department and Agriculture Department
As of April 11, 2025, the Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) has repealed its regulations implementing the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). NEPA passed into law in 1970 and requires all federal agencies to assess the environmental effects of their proposed actions prior to making decisions.
