Big news to share: AB 2494 (Rogers), the EPIC-sponsored legislation we've been championing, passed the Senate Natural Resources and Water Committee today!
This is a significant milestone in our campaign, and one we couldn't have reached without the incredible dedication of our supporters and allies. From making calls to sending emails, so many people gave their time and energy to help spread the word and build momentum for this bill. We are deeply grateful for every bit of that support. It made a real difference in the outcome today.
This victory belongs to all of you. Thank you for standing with us, and please stay tuned as AB 2494 continues to move through the legislative process. We'll keep you updated on the next steps and how you can continue to help.

Next week AB 2494 (Rogers) - the Modernizing State Forests Bill will be heard and voted on by the Senate Natural Resources and Water Committee.
The hearing will start at 9 AM on July 1, 2026, and will be held at the State Capitol in Room 113, 1315 10th St, Sacramento, CA 95814.
The hearing is open to the public and is also available via livestream. Please join us to show your support! Instructions on how to view the livestream are provided below:
Go to the Senate website (www.senate.ca.gov) and find the hearing scrolling to the right under Today’s Events. When the hearing begins, you will be able to click “watch,” and the hearing will open. After the hearing, you can find a video recording of the hearing under media archives on the Senate website, or there will be a link on the Senate Natural Resources and Water Committee page (http://sntr.senate.ca.gov) under the date July 1, 2026.
The bill is the 3rd item on the agenda, so it will likely be heard before noon.
