On March 23, at 2:30 p.m., EPIC’s sponsored legislation AB 2494 that will end the commercial logging mandate in all state forests, including the Jackson Demonstration State Forest, will be heard in its first committee meeting in the California State Legislature. The Assembly Natural Resources Committee will vote on the bill, deciding whether it continues the process through the legislature to eventually get signed into law by Governor Newsom.

If supporters want to show up in support of the bill in person, they can attend at the State Capitol, 1021 O Street, Room 437, Sacramento. As a member of the public, you will be able to voice your support for the bill at the committee hearing. If you cannot attend the committee in person, you may have a friend express your support for you in person. If our supporters would like to watch the hearing, they can do so at the link HERE.

If you haven’t already, consider signing our petition, expressing support for our bill to the California State Legislature.

Thank you to all of our supporters for their persistent advocacy and help in getting this bill to become a reality for our state forests!
