Join us on February 16 at 2:00PM at the Willits Environmental Center for a heartfelt celebration honoring the life and legacy of the late Priscilla Hunter, hosted by acclaimed author Kim Bancroft. Priscilla, a tireless advocate for environmental justice and Indigenous sovereignty from the Coyote Valley Band of Pomo Indians, dedicated her life to protecting nature and reclaiming cultural traditions.
Kim Bancroft first encountered Priscilla’s inspiring story through their engagement in the Willits Bypass activism. Moved by Priscilla’s passion and insight, Kim co-authored a memoir with her—ensuring that the rich history of the Coyote Valley Pomo community endures. Though Priscilla passed away on November 16, 2024, her powerful narrative lives on in every page of this memorable work.
We invite you to join us in the town where Priscilla devoted so much of her life to fighting for nature and Indigenous rights. At the event, you'll have the opportunity to purchase a copy of the memoir, with all proceeds benefiting a scholarship fund for Native youth in the Coyote Valley Band of Pomo Indians.
Bring along your favorite finger foods and stories to share as we honor Priscilla’s remarkable journey. Spread the word, and we look forward to celebrating together!
