Bike Month Humboldt Celebration & Expo at Jefferson Community Center Park on May 20th

Please join us on Saturday, May 20 from 11am-2pm at Jefferson Community Center Park for the Bike Celebration & Expo hosted by the local nonprofit Bike Month Humboldt! Back for a second year, this is a fun, family-friendly event to appreciate all the benefits that bicycling brings to our community. Find EPIC's table, come say hello to members of our staff, and learn about our ongoing advocacy to decarbonize the North Coast.

Bike Month Humboldt is also hosting several other fun challenges and events throughout the month, including:

  • Humboldt County Bike Challenge (May 1-31)

  • Bike Commuter Challenge (May 1-19)

  • Bike to Work Day Commuter Energizer Stations in Arcata (May 11) and Eureka (May 18). The North Coast Co-op has you covered with free snacks, coffee, tune-ups from Adventure's Edge, and even a chair massage. Mornings from 7-9:30am on Thurs. May 11th at Arcata Store and Thurs. May 18th at Eureka Store.

Why bike? Riding a bicycle is a great way to get outside, exercise, and refresh your mind. Physical activity, such as 20 minutes of cycling a day, is proven to lower the risk for chronic disease like type 2 diabetes, heart disease and some types of cancer. Transportation accounts for more than half of Humboldt County's greenhouse gas pollution. Replacing a car trip with a bicycle trip lowers your carbon footprint. Plus, biking can save you money! You will see your neighborhood from a different perspective and get to know your community through a fun and inspiring interest. (from Bike Month Humboldt)
