EPIC is your organization; you fund it with charitable donations and you govern it by annually electing our Board of Directors. As a membership organization, we depend on the participation and generosity of people like you.
The Board of Directors is charged with ensuring that EPIC is well-equipped, pointed in the right direction, and fortified against the stormy seas of financial turmoil. EPIC has persisted for 47 years and counting because of committed volunteers who are willing to share their skills and services on the Board, and participate in bimonthly meetings with EPIC Executive Director Tom Wheeler. Click here to meet the current Board.
If you’re interested in helping shape EPIC’s future and have donated to EPIC between May 31, 2023 and now, please consider applying for the next Board of Directors year, beginning on January 1, 2025. We are looking for professional, assertive, creative problem-solvers who are interested in joining EPIC’s Board of Directors with experience in the following areas: non-profit governance; conservation science; financial management; environmental law; policy development; fundraising; and event planning.
Find the application online or as a hard copy at the EPIC office located at 145 G Street, Suite A, Arcata, CA 95521. If you’d like to learn more or sit in on a board meeting, please email Tom Wheeler at tom@wildcalifornia.org or call us at 707-822-7711. Applications are due by July 31, 2024 emailed to Tom Wheeler at tom@wildcalifornia.org or delivered to the EPIC office.
The current Board will review applications and put forward a ballot to EPIC’s members in September. We encourage all EPIC members to read through applicant biographies, cast your ballots, and support your local post office! Ballots must be postmarked by October 25, 2024 and we will publish the election results in November.
The nine nominees with the most “yes” votes (who also received more “yes” than “no” votes) will be elected to the EPIC Board of Directors at the January 2025 meeting of the Board of Directors. (If there are fewer than nine candidates with votes of approval, the Board of Directors will have one or more vacancies.)
Thank you for your support; for the Earth!
