Briana Villalobos, Director of Communications and Development

briana-vilalobosBriana is responsible for energizing and engaging with the EPIC community. She works collaboratively with members and volunteers to organize events and provide resources and materials for membership development and enhancement. She oversees brand marketing and communications, including moderation of social media, content development for the website, and curation of all outbound communications – to provide clear communication and greater marketing support for the organization and volunteer leaders. Briana also directs fundraising and planned giving opportunities for EPIC members.

Briana attended Humboldt State University and graduated with a degree in sociology in spring 2016. She has dedicated her surveying and research skills to a variety of local organizations including Humboldt Institute for Interdisciplinary Marijuana Research, and the Retention through Academic Mentoring Program on campus. As a Southern California transplant she was amazed by the beauty of Humboldt County. She chose to focus her education on human ecology, and the influential relationship between one’s own biosphere and their individual self-objectification within such society. She is passionately curious in how individuals relate to themselves in their local and natural world, and how these relationships influence specific behaviors in relation to environmental consciousness.

She is fresh out of the womb of academia, and is excited to further ignite her burning love for social activism and the environment. When she’s not in the office – Briana can be found roller skating around town, slack lining local forests and beaches, and playing acro-yoga with her friends.
