DANA LYONS IN HUMBOLDT COUNTY

October 20, 2006

Activist/Musician Dana Lyons Sweeps Through Humboldt County

Dana Lyons is performing two concerts as a benefit for the Environmental Protection Information Center.

The activist-singer is sweeping the north coast on a global tour to raise awareness of the Earth's few remaining temperate rainforests--of which Humboldt is the southernmost of North America's share. Decimated in the process of industrialization and continuing development, these forests now remain only in Tasmania, New Zealand, Alaska, British Columbia, Chile, and the Pacific northwestern U.S.

The first show will be in Briceland at the Beginnings Octagon on Friday, October 20th. BR Graham will prepare a Harvest Stew and cornbread dinner at 6pm (fresh pressed local cider too!) and after a brief slideshow by Pat Rasmussen, Dana will play at 8.

The Northern Humboldt performance is scheduled for Wednesday, October 25th at 7 pm at the Bayside Grange, just north of Eureka on Jacoby Creek Road. Tea, coffee and desserts will be served.

Both performances are available on a sliding scale, $10-20; call 707-923-2931 for more information about both shows. Come out enjoy the harvest dinner, hear some great music and support EPIC!
