Public "scoping" is the first step in an environmental review process, and citizens are asked to identify planning issues and alternatives they would like addressed in the analysis. Please write BLM today to urge it to fully protect this spectacular place and include the following issues in its review:
- Managing the King Range as a wilderness area until such designation is established
- Reintroducing Roosevelt elk, native grasses, and other native species
- Continuing to exclude beach driving
- Removing roads where possible and participating in collaborative restoration projects
- Giving forests, fish, and wildlife maximum protection in all fire treatment areas
- Eliminating invasive species without toxic chemicals
- Ensuring full protection of all cultural sites
