LNG Storage Tank Rupture Flammable Vapor Cloud DriftThe following are the areas at risk from the release of 95,000 cubic meters of LNG onto land, followed by the formation of a vapor cloud capable of drifting downwind. The distance the vapor cloud can travel before it is no longer flammable is the radius from the release point to the "Lower Flammability Limit" (LFL) of the drifting vapor cloud. The LFL is the lowest concentration of LNG vapor capable of burning in air.
