Its article liek this that are the problems for ATV riders. maiing people that have never riden and ATV or that know how usefull they are that make them think they are only a bad thing. The only tings that make ATVs bad are the people that take them where they arent supposed to go. I own a farm and ride and use ATVs more that most people that read this article would ver imagine. I have many trails going through the woods on my farm and I have to do regualr trail mantinece to keep things working smoothly and I have yet to have amojor problem. Ok, how will and ATV kill a tree?....There is no way that an atv will hurt a tree unless you have the one guy that thinkes he has to make new trails and running the tree over. And for the fish and wildlife...Where I ride the deer ad other wildlife could honesty care less. The deer will let me ride withing about 40 yards right past them and they just look and them go back to eating. Now for the fish and the sediment. This is the forests owners problem. They should be out there controlling the ditches and water runnoff and there would be no problem. I am in a heavy equipemnt program and we regularly go onto Wayne Nation Forrest and redo all of the ATV trails, such as puting in water bars to prevent erotion and blocking off the trails that the one guy out of 100 think he has to make where he isnt supposed to go. And eveyrhting is fine. ATVs arent the problem, its the people that amintain the forrest. Tons of people are in need of jobs so then could easiyl hire a few peopl to do trail maintinence and keep an eyey on the idiots that think they are above the ruls.
