Biodiversity
An environment and a bioregion needs biodiversity to thrive. Humans alone do not make a place, nor do animals, rivers or mountains by themselves. An environment is a holistic interconnection of living elements all linked together in a web of life. Protecting biodiversity means restoring creeks and rivers so that salmon may again be plentiful and the traditional cultures of the North Coast can remain healthy and intact. Protecting biodiversity means retaining old-growth forests so that Northern Spotted Owls and other species dependent on such an environment can live and realize their full potential.
